Q.
Who is eligible to enter the Awards?
A.
The designer, the owner or user (client) of design, the brand’s owner, its designer or design consultancy are welcome to submit designs that have actually been produced and for commercial designs, have become available in any market(s) after 1 January 2020.
Q.
What should I do if I created an account but did not receive any activation email?
A.
The system will send you a notification email with the activation link to your email address automatically once your account is created. If you do not receive any email, please check your spam folder, and check if you have provided a correct email address.
Q.
How many entries can I submit?
A.
There is no limitation on the number of entries for each entrant or company. Each entrant can submit more than one entry in each category.
Q.
Can I submit the same entry into more than one category?
A.
You can submit your design into more than one category. However, a separate entry fee will be charged for each different design category.
Q.
What should be included in my product or project description?
A.
The description should present your product or project briefly and objectively and explain to the GDA judges in just a few sentences what makes the product unique. We recommend that you do not use figurative or flowery language and that you keep the description simple, precise and informative.
Q.
What additional materials and attachments should I submit?
A.
You can upload up to three files as supporting documents for each product or project you enter. These materials will help the GDA judges get a better insight into your design. This can take the form of images or PDF files, showing sketches, drawings or renderings of your design.
Q.
Do I have to submit an actual design?
A.
Other than applications for the Digital and Interior Categories, entrants are strongly advised to submit in both digital and physical formats to facilitate the physical judging of finalists. For physical submission, a separate email will be sent to collect physical work, please follow the instructions and send the actual design to the address mentioned before the deadline.

Will the physical designs be returned?
A.
All designs submitted will not be returned unless otherwise specified with prior contact with the GDA Organising Committee. HKDA reserves the right to dispose of the Entrant’s design.
Q.
Can I amend the submitted information/image?
A.
You can amend the submitted information before completing the payment procedure until the official submission deadline via the digital submission platform. No further amendments or uploading will be allowed after the completion of the payment procedure.
Q.
What will be arranged for the winning entries?
A.
The winning entries will have the opportunity to be exhibited in the Award Exhibition.

How can I pay the award fees?
A.
Via Credit cards and bank transfer.
Q.
Do I have to pay the Registration fee & Winner fee?
A.
Registration fee is mandatory. If your entry receives an award, the Winner Fee is required.

Do I have to finish the payment before the registration deadline?
A.
Yes.

Q.
What are the judging criteria?
A.
Please refer to Part “Judging Criteria” for full coverage.
Q.
What is the judging procedure?
A.
The jury process consists of two stages: an online selection, followed by a physical final jury session that determines the GDA Gold and Global Top 10 Awards.
Q.
When will the results be announced?
A.
The results will be announced at the Award Presentation Ceremony to be held on 25 April 2025.
